SSI Payments for November 2026 Shift to October 30 Due to Calendar
The Social Security Administration moved the deposit date because November 1 falls on a Sunday, leaving no SSI payment scheduled for the following month.

The United States Social Security Administration (SSA) has altered the standard payment schedule for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients for the current month. This adjustment stems from a specific rule in the federal calendar regarding weekends and holidays.
SSI benefits are typically distributed on the first business day of each month. However, when the first of the month lands on a weekend or a federal holiday, the payment is issued on the preceding business day. Because November 1, 2026, falls on a Sunday, the SSA moved the November benefit date to Friday, October 30.
Consequently, SSI recipients will not see a new deposit in their accounts during November. The payment issued on October 30 covers the benefit for November, while the earlier payment on October 1 covered October. The SSA clarified that the second deposit in October is not a bonus or an additional benefit, but rather a standard monthly payment issued early to align with the federal calendar.
The next regular SSI payment is scheduled for Tuesday, December 1. The program assists adults and children with limited income and resources who are disabled, blind, or age 65 or older. According to MySA, more than 500,000 residents of Texas receive this assistance, though the calendar adjustment applies to all eligible beneficiaries nationwide.
For 2026, the maximum federal monthly SSI payment is $994 for an individual and $1,491 for an eligible couple. A separate category for essential persons receives a maximum of $498. These figures represent the upper limits, and individual amounts vary based on income, housing status, and other resources considered by the SSA.
The upcoming cost-of-living adjustment for 2027 is set at 3.6%. This increase will raise the maximum monthly SSI payments to $1,029 for individuals, $1,544 for couples, and $516 for essential persons. The SSA confirmed that the first payment reflecting this increase will be issued on Thursday, December 31, 2026.
Approximately 7.3 million beneficiaries are expected to receive the adjusted payments starting on that date. The early payment for November issued on October 30 retains the 2026 rates and does not include the 2027 cost-of-living adjustment.
