An estimated 4,000 people gathered in the Crescent Hill neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, on Saturday night for the annual Halloween on Hillcrest celebration. The event transformed residential front yards into elaborate display sites for trick-or-treaters and spectators.
Security operations focused on maintaining safety at key access points. Louisville Metro Police officers stationed themselves at the intersections of Brownsboro Road and Frankfort Avenue to monitor the flow of visitors. Louisville Metro EMS crews remained on site throughout the evening to provide medical assistance to the large crowd.
Alex Raffa, a responder for Louisville Metro EMS, stated the team's goal was ensuring no one got hurt. The presence of emergency services supported a family-friendly atmosphere that has defined the neighborhood event for decades.
Rob Tunnell attended the gathering with his three young sons. He described the location as the definitive Halloween street. Tunnell noted that the event offers more than candy collection, providing an atmosphere filled with costumes and high energy for the community.
Beyond the traditional exchange of treats, the route served a charitable function. Several homes along the path acted as collection points for canned food. These donations were intended for individuals in need across greater Louisville, allowing attendees to contribute to local food security while participating in the festivities.
